Pool Playdate

Today our friends Monick and Lilly came over to hang out and go swimming. It was a nice day but again the water was too cold so the kiddos were not in the pool for very long. Afterwards we had a nice lunch then it was nap time. Thanks for coming over guys!

Saturday Fun

This morning we headed down to the beach to give picture taking another shot. The boys corporate a lot better when Rob is around. This time I got some really nice shots. After an hour or so it started to get windy and the boys were wet and cold so we headed home for some lunch and pool time in the front yard. What a beautiful day it was.
What a pro!
Even the pool water was cold but they still loved splashing around in it. I even set up the beach tent outside for some shade and relaxing. We really needed a day like this. Great Family Time!

Kadin's 1 Year Pictures

I wanted to take Kadin's 1 year pictures at the beach so this morning we went down to Bolsa Chica Beach. Renee came with me and we met Sharlene, Laura, Dylan and Linda there also. I knew I would not be able to take Kadin's pictures and keep an eye on Tristan so we had a little help. It was a beautiful day. Tristan loved the water and and playing in the sand. Kadin would not corporate and wanted me to hold him the whole time. I could not get a good picture of him, all he did was cry. It's not that he didn't like the sand he did and loved playing in it it's just that he's very much attached to me, he's my little mamma's boy.

After taking the pictures we went to lunch at Jon's Cafe where one big mess happened after another. Again this is why I don't take the boys out to eat. The waiter put a glass of ice cold water in front of Kadin and the first thing he did was grab the glass spilling it all over himself, it was the waiters second day, hopefully he learned not to put items in front of small children. The boys behaved very good. After eating lunch and getting ready to leave I looked at the table and I remember when I was a waitress I hated people like me who left big messes. I cleaned up as much at possible but with two drink spills, lots of used napkins and dirty plates there was not much for me to clean up with out having to take items back into the kitchen. We did leave a good tip.

My first job was a hostess at Applebee's Restaurant. I managed to stay working there for six years and became a waitress, bartender and expoditer. I loved working there and managed to save up money to buy my first car, a teel green Mitsubushi Eclispe. I remember waiting tables and working a lot of Friday and Saturday nights and paying the hostess $20.00 dollars a night to not seat children in my section. I did not like kids and never wanted any of my own. I remember thinking why did the parents let the kids scream and yell, color with crayons on the table (that's just irresponsible) and just make a mess of everything. Why would you even take your kids out to eat if the behaved so badly? So therefore in my mind I was never going to have kids. Now that I have two boys of my own I realized the parents were giving them anything possible to keep them behaved and mostly did not work out in there favor leaving a big mess all over the table and floor. I feel like because I went through this I try to prevent it from happening to me and I just don't take the boys out to eat but it's all in the parents not just the kids.

Disneyland

I got a Disney pass for Disneyland here in California. I wish it was good at Disney World in Orlando Florida but it's not. I have not been to Disney in over 10 years. The last time I went was my senior high school class trip when we go to Grad night after the park closes right before graduation.

We went with my sister-in law Laura, her son Dylan and her mom Linda which the boys know and will call Grandma Linda. Thankfully she was there to help because it was hard getting on the tram with two small children and a huge stroller. The theme park was packed for a Wednesday afternoon. Next time I will plan to go first thing in the morning.

Our first ride was Winnie the Pooh. The boys were in such ah with the ride, lots of bright colors and music. Kadin was lit up the whole ride. We then went on the Carousel and Dumbo. the ride wait was really long so we ate dinner then headed home. We didn't get home until after 9pm, it was a long day but a fun one. Can't wait to take the boys back.

Playdate With Friends

Today we had a few friends over to play. I made a buffalo chicken dip and dino nuggets for the kiddos. We played in the back play room for a bit then headed outside to enjoy the beauitful day and get some fresh air. I love this time of year, being outside, hearing the birds, watching the flowers grow. I was thinking of starting a garden with the boys, Rob said we can make one in the back yard but I'm afraid the dogs will destroy it so I might put it in the front of the house. We will see, I haven't decided if this is something to start with the boys yet.

Practice Cake

I have decided to make Kadin's birthday cake in the shape of a surfboard. We are having a beach party at our house next month to celebrate his 1st birthday. I really wanted to do a cake and cover it with fondant but have never worked with fondant before so I wanted to make a practice cake. It came out really good and could have been better but I was rushing to finish because it was so late. I know that if I do the cake in the morning instead of late at night it will come out much better. I had lots of fun making the cake and would love to take a class on how to be a better cake maker and decorator.

After wards we went to my S-I-L's mother's house (Grandma Linda) for some dinner and a walk to the park. We had the boys in there little red buggies and gots of looks when walking to the park. Everyone thought it was so cute! They each have there own ride with there names on license plates on the back of there buggies.

Dylan's first time at the park and going down the slide. He looked like he had a great time!

Spending the day with Grandma

Today my M-I-L and I took the boys shopping for there Easter outfits. We first started out at Toys-R-Us, she wanted to by the boys a wagon for their birthday. I also need an outside toy box so I can keep all of the outside toys outside. We piled in the car with a wagon still in the box and a toy box and headed home to unload. We then went to the mall, had a nice lunch at Red Robin, they boys were so well behaved. We walked around the mall, I found them really cute outfits at The Children's Place, now I just need to get them a nice pair of shoes.

On the way home we decided to get Dairy Queen. My M-I-L bought each of the boys a scoop of ice cream with a cone, I'm not big on sugar for the boys and they never get ice cream but I thought it would be funny to watch them. Boy was it.

Here's Tristan waiting for daddy to come home from work. He loves to watch his truck drive up. His face light up when he sees Rob get out of the truck as he yells dada.
Kadin had a BLAST eating the ice cream. He had it all over him and his clothes. He didn't want to put it down. At one point he had his and Tristan's ice cream at the same time.

After a nice bath for the boys we headed out to Rob's softball game in Long Beach. He has games every Friday night, I never get to go because I can't watch both boys and the game. Tristan runs all over the place and Kadin is barely walking. So it was nice to have some help from my M-I-L. Kadin slept in the stroller the whole time and woke up as we were leaving. Tristan played on the play ground all night and even fell asleep on me as we were swinging. The boys lost the game very badly, looks like they need some practice. Better luck next time.

New Stroller

Okay so this is my 5th stroller. I really wanted a new stroller that was easier to push around and one that I could run behind. The stroller I have now is long and so hard to push. It was like driving a cadalliac. I hated it and everyone that pushed it complained that it was too heavy. So I'm going to sell all of my 4 other strollers and just keep this new stroller. Rob put the stroller together tonight and I took the boys on a walk. I LOVE IT!!!!! It's brown and orange, so easy to push and came with an ipod connector.

Tristan loved the new stroller so much he didn't want to get out, said more, more so we walked the block one more time.

Mountain Climber

Everyday the boys and I go outside around 2:00 to play and wait for daddy to come home. They love being outside playing in the yard, running around and swinging in there swings. When Rob got home from work today he said he wanted to go by the boys a playset for the front yard. So we went to Toys R Us, (they had so many to choose from) eventually we decided on the Mountain Climber. (This is there early birthday gift from us.) Of course Tristan was so happy with excitment once it was put together. He had a blast going down the slide and climbing up the rocks. Kadin loved the slide just as much.

Saturday

Today I had a yard sale and it was not a good turn out. I thought the baby stuff would go fast unfortunately it did not. Instead of donating everything which I usually do I kept it and will try to have another one in a few months. We still made $250.00, sold my tires and rims that came on my car and a lot of house stuff. Hopefully next time will be a better turn out.

My mother-in-law came to watch the boys for me so I could attend to the yard sale. Renee was here to help, her dad stopped by who she hadn't seen since last Christmas. It was a nice visit with him. James and Laura came by with Dylan for a bit. What a busy house.

After the yard sale Renee, my M-I-L and I walked down to the nail salon on the corner. I really needed some pampering and a pedicure. After wards my M-I-L stayed for dinner, we went and got Boston Market to-go, came home gave the boys a bath and put them to bed we watched a movie called the Secret Garden. Rob was with the guys across the street playing beer pong and watching the fight. It was so nice to get to spend some time with my M-I-L. I really enjoy her company and the boys love having her around. It was a great day!

Kadin Loves Cars

Kadin really loves playing with this purple Lakers car. Someone bought if for Tristan awhile back and I found it recently in the boys closet. He holds onto the car and make the vroom sound while pushing the car around on the floor. It is the cutest thing. He must watch how Tristan plays with his cars and trucks to get the vroom sound.

Day at the Park

Today Renee and I took the boys to the park by my house. We loaded up the boys in there little red buggies and walked over to the park. It was so nice out.

Kadin tried climbing the bars and played in the sand, he really liked the baby swing. Not much else for him to do.
He did not want to go in the baby swing, he insisted on the big swing.
Tristan had lots of fun trying out new things like the monkey bars. He couldn't swing from one bar to another but he liked to hang from one bar.

She's Back!

Well my friend Renee just moved back from Florida and is going to be my nanny. We have been best friends for 13 years. I have tried babysitters and they just didn't seem to work out. They were more interested in putting on a movie instead of playing with the boys. Renee was a nanny back in Florida for a little girl who was 7. Boys and girls are much different, I really hope this works out because if not I don't know what I'm going to do. Daycare? Not my choice but I do have a business to run from home.
This picture was taken of us last Christmas, I was pregnant with Kadin.

Pancakes

This morning I was craving chocolate chip pancakes, so I made some from scratch. Growing up this was my favorite breakfast my dad would make my sisters and I. When my parents got divorced we would visit my dad on the weekends, he always made us chocolate chip pancakes on Sundays. Mine of course were not as good as my dads. I can't wait to go home in May so I can request my dads chocolate chip pancakes. Looks like Tristan really enjoyed them too.

My Dream House

Growing up I LOVED to draw and color, I wasn't very good at it but I still doing it. I remember my sisters and I were always drawing our dream houses. Today I was coloring with the boys and I decided to re-draw how I always drew my dream house as a little girl. As I was drawing it all started coming back to me. I had curtains in all the windows (none of the same color), a big tree out front with a tire swing, a fence on the side of the house with a swimming pool in the back yard (you can't see the pool but I did draw splashes), I had a side walk with weeds growing out of the cracks, lots of birds in the sky, even a bird bath and a smiling sun with sun glasses on.

Creepy Crawlers

Sunday's always seem to go by fast. Today the boys and I made creepy crawlers. I found the activity set at Target. It came with all the materials needed to make some really cute bugs. It also has a battery pack that goes underneath so the bugs can crawl.

Kadin was laughing as the bugs were crawling around the table. He kept trying to catch the bug.
