Animal Scramble

My sister Alishia told me about this game called Animal Scramble. It's a really cool game to play and it helps the kids to learn the names of animals, it times you when finding the animal it calls out. Kadin really loved the giraffe, he decided to eat his Zwieback toast with it.

I spread the animals out on the table and told him each of the names of the animals. The giraffe calls out find the monkey and he has to put the giraffe over the monkey and so fourth with all the animals. I was so amazed he got all the animals correct. He really enjoyed playing this game all day.

Dirt Bike Ride

Today we decided to go out for some fresh air, we have all been couped up in the house the past few days sick. Rob was working in the garage so the boys and I kept him company. Tristan loves to go on the little 50 (dirt bike) so Rob took him around the block a few times.

Bronchitis x's 3

Today the boys and I went to the doctors. Boy was that fun! 3 hours later and lots of Rx's. We all have bronchitis. Kadin also had an ear infection. They gave us albuterol for the bronchitis and Kadin also has to take Amoxiclin for his ear infection. I never know bronchitis was contagious. Boy was I wrong! I can't stop coughing, my sides, ribs and back hurt so bad from coughing. I can't even imagine how the boys feel, they can't cough up anything like I can. Atleast they have a steam vaporize to help them sleep at night. I should think about getting one for my room too.

Still Sick

It's going on a week now and the boys and I are still sick. I finally broke down last night and took some Nyquil. I'm not much for taking medicine and most of the time I just let the sickness pass on it's own but I needed some relief from all the coughing, blowing my nose, fever and achyness. It helped a little but made me feel very weird and jittery and awake all night, again another sleepless night. I have canceled all our plans for the week so we don't get anyone else sick. I can't remember the last time I was this sick. I hope we all get better soon!

Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's day and we are all sick. The boys have fevers, runny noses and really deep coughs. Rob and I are both congested with what seems like a head cold and coughing. We were up all night with the boys as they were having trouble sleeping through the night.
This afternoon the boys and I took a nap which was very much needed. I got another flower delivery only this time it was a bouquet of red, white and pink tulips in a red vase. They are so pretty and I can't wait for them to open up. Thank you for my beautiful flowers honey!
I decided to make some banana bread (some with chocolate chips) and I put them into my heart cupcake molds. They came out so soft and fluffy. These cupcake molds are the best! The cupcakes come out so fluffy, not over cooked and they stay fluffy if you keep them in the mold, I store them in a zip lock bag.
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's day! Much Love to all of you!

Valentine Roses

I got an early valentine today. Rob had a beautiful bouquet of red roses delivered this afternoon. They came in a box with a crystal clear vase. Thank you honey for the beauitful roses.

Making Valentine Cards

Today I decided to make some Valentine Day cards with the boys. Luckily our babysitter Natalie was here to help because it was messy. I cut out hearts and we took hand prints of the boys with paint. Tristan was really scared to put his hands in the paint so we did Kadin's hand prints first. He liked the gushyness of the wet paint. The boys will give there homemade cards to daddy on Valentine's day.

Kadin decided he was going to add a special touch to his and take a bite out of the paper. Unfortunatly I could not get a picture of Tristan with his picture, he was scared of the arms and legs, silly boy

Cookie Monster

This morning I decided to make some peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies just to have around the house. While changing Kadin's diaper in the other room I came back out to the playroom to find Tristan had gotten ahold of 4 cookies. There was chocolate and crumbs every where. I had just taken them out of the oven and left them on the stove still on the cookie sheet. He knows not to touch the oven because it can he very hot. I guess he really wanted a cookie.

Tristan's Train Boo Boo

This morning I was in the kitchen unloading the dishwasher as the boys were playing in the back room. I hear this loud sream then crying so I ran to the back, Tristan apparently was standing on a chair and fell over onto his toy train. He jabbed his face and behind the ear. He is doing fine but will definatly have some brusing.

I kept this train still in the packaging in the closet because it had a 2 year plus age category but Robert thought it was okay for him to have it now, so he gave it to Tristan. Accidents do happen but this is why it is so important to follow the age restrictions on toys. This is 10 minutes after he had fallen. He is so lucky he didn't puncture his ear drum. He now knows the word boo boo and keeps saying, "Boo Boo" in a little whimper voice.

LA Zoo

Finally... no rain! Today was a beautiful day so we went to the Los Angeles zoo with my mom, the boys, Laura, Linda and Dylan. We got there around 10:30 am and stayed till after 3:00. Tristan wanted to walk a lot and not be in the stroller so luckily I had his monkey backpack. He did a lot of walking, even my feet were tired by the end of the day. We had so much fun seeing the animals and taking lots of pictures. I got 2 flat pennies for the boys, one is a Kola Bear and the other is a Kangaroo. Just a souvenir for them showing their first trip to the zoo. I actually went to the zoo last March when I was pregnant with Kadin, Tristan was only 10 months old.

He loved watching the animals. We went to the petting part of the zoo. Not many animals to pet. Just goats and sheep.
Me and my mom, last stop before heading home.

New Clothes

We finally had to buy Tristan some new clothes today. I really have not had to buy him very much because I got a ton of baby clothes when I was pregnant with Tristan and the clothes went from Newborn to 18 months. He's finally starting to wear 24 months or 2T clothing. Anyways we went to Old Navy (Big Sale) and got him a few new shirts, pants and pj's. He looks so grown up in his new clothes.

New Toys

Tonight Grandma Sharlene, (Robert's mom) came over and brought some toys she was keeping in her shed. She got them from another Grandma who had 5 grand kids that were too old for the toys so she gave them to her. She brought over a toy kitchen that talks, a barbque grill that also talks, a sit and spin that plays music and a luggage bag filled with lots of other toys. I put those away for now because they have small parts. They are the cutes toys.

Early Birthday Presents

Since my mom will not be here to celebrate Kadin's first birthday in April and Tristan's second birthday in May she wanted to buy them an early birthday gift so she could give it to them herself. We went to Walmart and found a Cars 5-piece tent setup. It came with a tent, sleeping bag, compass and backpack. It was left over from Christmas and the compass was missing so we got the whole set for$9.00. What a DEAL!!! Then we found another Cars sleeping bag so each of the boys could have there own.
Even daddy got in the tent with the boys.

Bounce House in the House :0

Unfortunately it has been raining every day since my mom got here and it really STINKS! There's not much to do except stay around the house and it seems like we are all getting cabin fever so Robert decided to put up the bounce house in the playroom. The boys had a blast and it seemed to have brightened their day.

Family Dinner

Tonight we had a family dinner at our house. My mom cooked smoked chicken penne pasta in vodka sauce. Ummm it was so good. James and Laura came with Dylan and Laura's mom and her Uncle Jack and Robert's mom Sharlene came too. It was really nice to have a sit down dinner with family. We talked, drank a bottle of wine and catched up with my mom and the rest of the family. The boys played in the back room, watched a movie and just had some good old family time.
All the Grandma's, (Laura's mom Linda, my mom Kathy, Robert's mom Sharlene)
The boys got a bath in the kitchen sink from Grandma Sharlene. They had lots of fun splashing all the water out of the sinks and onto the kitchen floor.

Valentine's Day Potluck

Today we went to a Valentine's day potluck with our mommy group. Since it was raining outside Jennifer W. decided to have it at her house. (Thank you Jen!) There was a lot of kids and moms there, I even brought my mom. She took the pictures for me since I am always taking the pictures. We had lots to eat and lots of fun with our friends. I made chicken Parmesan, it was very quick, easy and delicious thanks to my moms recipe.

I made valentine gift bags for each of the kids. Each bag had candy, a valentine card and a pencil.

Grandma Brought Gifts!

After cleaning up the BIG mess Tristan decided to make in the office this morning, the boys got to open some gifts Grandma bought from the Sea World gift shop in Florida. Kadin got a blue t-shirt and a wind up shark and Tristan got a black t-shirt and a wind up Shamu. The boys were so excited to open their gifts and loved playing with their new toy grandma bought them. Tristan was so excited to play with his new Shamu toy. He kept asking for us to wind it up all morning until he figured out how to do it his self. I think my mom was even more excited to see how happy they were and the excitement on there faces. The t-shirts are a little big but they have room to grow. I love this color on Kadin.

Formula MESS!

This morning I awoke to Kadin rattling his crib, I didn't hear Tristan so I assumed he was still sleeping. As I crept into the boy's room I noticed Tristan was not in his bed so I went looking for him and found him in the office with the door shut and a whole canister of formula (brand new) all over the floor, all over him and the desk. He was licking the formula off his fingers like it was ice cream. I immediately put him in the shower to rinse him off (I wish I had gotten a picture of him).

I know your probably wondering how he got the formula, well since my mom is visiting I can not feed Kadin in the living room when he awakes in the middle of the night so I thought I would feed him in the office. So I set out my bottles and canister of formula so I didn't wake her walking to the kitchen. Well my husband came into the office this morning and did not shut the door, he thought because I had left it opened a crack I didn't want it shut. But we ALWAYS keep the door shut because Tristan loves the lights and buttons on the computer.

Movie with Grandma

Today we picked my mom up from the airport. She is visiting from Florida until next Wednesday. It rained as we were driving home from the airport and is suppose to rain for the next few days. Hopefully it will clear up so we can be out of the house doing activities with grandma. After getting home and showing my mom the changes we made around the house we all decided to watch a movie. Tristan picked out the movie "A Bug's Life", one of his favorite movies. It's getting late so off to bed we go.

I really love this picture of my mom and Kadin. She hasn't seen him since the first week he was born.

Tristan was more into his movie than visiting with Grandma.

Grandma is comming to visit

Today my mom will be arriving at LAX around 3:55 pm from Florida. She will be visiting and staying with us until next Wednesday. I plan to spend lots of mother daughter time with my mom while she is here because I know this next week is going to go by so fast but I'm going to cherish every moment of it! I am so excited to see her! All week I have been telling the boys Grandma Kathy is comming. I even put a count down on Tristan's chalk board. I have not seen my mom since the first week Kadin was born and that was a little over 9 months ago, way too long. I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa to come. I HATE living so far away from my family, 3000 miles away to be exact. I never really appreciated my family as much as I do now not having them around everyday I really wish we lived closer to them so they could see my boys grow up. I come from a very big family and I enjoy having lots of family and friends around all the time.

Play Date

Today Holly and Nicholas came over to play. We had lots of fun and ate lunch. Heather and Payton were suppose to come but Payton is sick. We missed you guys, hope Payton gets better soon. Thanks Holly and Nicholas for comming over to play we had a great time. Kadin got hungry so Holly fed him. She's getting ready for baby number 2, a little girl due in May. Congrats to you Holly, I can't wait to meet her.
The boys really enjoyed playing with the Incrediblock.

Marker Madness

I bought this easel from ikea, (my new favorite store) for Tristan to color on. One side has a chalk board and the other side is a dry erase board. There is also a roll of paper so he can color on. This morning we woke up at 6:30 am and the first thing Tristan wanted to do was color. So he did for a little while then started putting the markers in his mouth. That's when it's time to play with something else. He had black marker all in his mouth and lips. Silly boy.
Kadin wanted to color like Tristan but he couldn't hold the marker on the paper so instead he decided to eat it like did Tristan. Everything Tristan does Kadin copies. He's like his little shadow or mini me.

Piggy Back Rides

So every night before bed Rob loves to give the boys piggy back rides through the house. The boys absolutely love it and it gets them tired before going to bed. Look how excited they are!
Tristan thinks Kadin is his little rag doll and is trying to drag him around the living room. Moments before this picture was taken the boys were wrestling on the ground, Tristan won as Kadin was crying.

This is what happens when playing gets too rough, we had to put Tristan in time out because he bit Kadin on his side. Tristan bit through the skin making it bleed. That was not nice of Tristan.

Kadin's bite mark, not a very good picture.

Fast Food Toys

For a few years now everytime Rob and I eat at a fast food place I would get a happy meal and save the toys. I kept them in a case of paper box in the closet. I recently noticed how much Tristan loves playing with cars, trucks and little figurines so I decided it was time to get the box down. I did not let him have all of the toys, he didn't even get half. I had no idea how many toys were in the box except for that it was full. Wow we have eaten a LOT of fast food over the past few years. He was so excited when he saw all of the toys.

Kadin was really upset he couldn't have the purple Lakers car that Tristan was playing with. Later Tristan shared the car with Kadin, it was very nice of him.

Super Bowl

We decided to have a little get together and watch the super bowl game today. We had a lot of fun with our friends and lots of yummy food to eat. Rosie and Dylan came but had to leave early because Rosie had to work :(. Robs friends Nathan and April stoped by too, it was really nice to see them since we don't get to that often :(. Rob set up the bounce house in the front yard, the boys played in there swings, rode bikes and played in there new playroom. Thanks guys for coming over today, we hope you all had a great time.
Dylan loved wearing Orlando's hat and sunglasses. He looks kool!
Kadin loved going up the bounce house then turning around and going down the slide head first or rolling down the slide. He was having a great time.

Tristan looks like a big boy here. He loved jumping in the bounce house especially when he had it all to his self. Rosie loves holding Kadin, she misses these days when the babies are little babies.
Kadin has mastered clapping, he loves to clap his hands all the time now.

Kadin is almost walking

Rob has been working with Kadin a lot and helping him take his first steps. He takes a few steps then falls down. He loves to walk behind the big truck, he's really good at it and making it turn. Once he gets going he starts laughing, I really don't know why he is laughing but it's funny to watch him. Tristan then tries to sit on the truck as Kadin is pushing it. Kadin should be walking on his own in the next few weeks. I can't believe how fast he is growing up, It seems like I just had him yesterday.
